Common Questions
How long will the evaluation take?
This depends on the type of evaluation requested. On average most people are at the office for approximately 4 hours. During that time the client will engage in a variety of tasks including a comprehensive clinical interview and completion of assessment tools.
In the case of child and adolescent assessments, parents and guardians will be asked to actively participate. They will engage in a clinical interview regarding their child as well as complete questionnaires. In an effort to gather as much information as possible, questionnaires may be sent to the school and providers working with the child and/or family.
What should I bring?
Please bring any type of eye wear or hearing devices needed. Breaks will be offered during the assessment and you are welcome to bring snacks or drinks.
Review of records and past assessments can be informative and assist in the evaluation process. If there are records that you believe would be of assistance to the process please bring them.
What happens after the initial meeting?
You will be asked to attend a follow up meeting to review the results of the assessment and engage in a conversation regarding the information shared.
